Tangine Stone: Vintage Voice
This past Saturday, Ohio, Cleveland born songstress Tangina Stone graced NYC’s lower east side with a tantalizing 35- minute set. Tangina’s dynamic vocals alighted along the darkened street in front of La Petite Mort, as lovely lines from some of her more popular songs like “Reasons,” “Cops” and “Suntan” drifted down Orchard Street. Tangina glowed as brightly as her voice, clad fully in vintage fits with an oversized, pea green Chanel shirt, embellished denim vest, high- wasted MCM light denim, acid wash jeans and ankle- high white leather boots (courtesy of LPM).
Sye Elaine Spence: Spiritual Songstress
Last Friday, New York- born/ Atlanta- based singer/songwriter Sye Elaine Spence graced La Petite Mort with her vocal presence in a mesmerizing and otherworldly acoustic performance. Sye performed some favorites off her latest EP Bloom (available on iTunes, Google Play, Spotify and her website), including “Sunshine” and an eerily melancholy cover of Bob Marley’s “Is This Love.”
Before she headed back to ATL, Sye stopped by LPM to chat with us about her personal aesthetic (she makes a lot of the clothes in which she performs) and its various mediums as well as life as a musically- inclined old soul.
